about
little boston inn

The inn is located in the small town of Boston, PA - 20 miles from the official end (or start)

of the Great Allegheny Passage at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh.

It is an ideal location for those seeking flexible travel options in or out of Pittsburgh.

Boston, PA is a full-service trail town with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink options, a convenience store, visitor's center, river access, and hiking trails.

We are situated between the historic Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area and

the peaceful woodlands along the Youghiogheny River,

so guests can enjoy two distinct trail experiences from our front door.

We are a stone's throw from the Youghiogheny River,

and a one mile trail-walk from the protected woods of Dead Man's Hollow.

We have three guest rooms, each with their own private entrance and bath.

We feature local artists in each room, and outfit each room to feel as restful as possible.

We also offer bicycle services on-site.

See "services" tab to learn more.

about us

little boston inn is the long-time dream of two touring cyclists who wanted to make a comfortable, restful space for cyclists on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP).

On a 2016 bicycle tour, we (Joshua & Joanna) were struck by the unending

kindness of strangers that we met during our travels.

Out of many miles biked, our experience on the GAP/C&O Canal stood out to us most,

both because of the people we met, and our enjoyment of the peaceful trail that uniquely connects two major U.S. cities.

We bought "little boston inn" in 2022, excited to share the

positive vibes experienced on our trip with trail users.

We look forward to welcoming you to the slower pace

and kinship we are all invited to enjoy along the Great Allegheny Passage.

A heartfelt thank you to our families, and to the people whose kindness brought us here, including Mike & Lisa, Paula, Yale, the Washington State crew, and many, many others.
